The National Cancer Institute recommends eating five servings of vegetables and three servings of friut a day, and their reasoning is simple: a diet high in fruits and vegetables will prevent or cure a wide range of ailments. In fact, the phytochemicals in fruit and vegetables holds the key to preventing many other modern diseases, such as heart disease, as well as debilitating conditions such as asthma, arthritis and allergies. The phytochemicals that have been uncovered are changing the way we think about food, especially fruits and vegetables.

For example, citrus fruits have substances that make it easier for your body to remove carcinogens, thus decreasing the chance of cancer. Grapes contain a phytochemical that protect each cells' DNA from damage along with being a detoxifier and cellular rejuvenator. Green vegetables contain phytochemicals that appear to offer protection against cancer-causing substances, and the list goes on. The problem is that most of us don't eat enough fruits and vegetables to reap the benefits they offer. The average American eats only 1 1/2 servings of vegetables and no fruit on any given day. Juicing could provide the answer to fixing our fruit and vegetable deficient diets. In making one glass of juice you use many peices of fruits and or vegetables in order to make a full glass increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables.

It is important that you incorporate juicing into a well-balanced, high-fiber, whole food diet. Extracted juices should not replace whole fruits and vegetables completely. Their fiber is important for elimination of toxins. A healthy diet consists of potein, carbohdrates, fat, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytochemicals, fiber and water in proportions that promote growth and maintain vibrant healthy cells. Juicing is a great way to help you get some of the nutrients you might otherwise be missing.

Juicing provides all necessary vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytochemicals. Carrot juice is one of the most beneficial juices containing large quantities of vitamin A and many other vitamins & minerals. Because you are getting all the vitamins and minerals naturally you are getting them in the proper portions set out by nature. Many of these nutrients are trapped in the fiber or pulp of the fruit or vegetable, by juicing you remove the indigestible fiber, making nutrients available to the body in much larger quantities. Your body assimilates the nutrient much easier and faster saving energy required by digestion and allows the body to rest while detoxifying or cleansing.
